Meet Mid-City CAN intern Annie Chen

Annie ChenMy name is Annie Chen and I am 20 years old, currently a senior at University of California, San Diego, majoring in psychology with a business minor. My lifelong passion has always been art and all my life I have been trying to find a way to incorporate what I love with what I do every day. It all started because whenever I left a piece of artwork as a gift, that person would never forget my name. It’s hard to create a lasting impression, and that is exactly what most organizations try to attain. This is why I never lost sight of ambition, the idea that passion creates action and action creates results.

Ever since creating my organization, Rescue and Aid for Children Everywhere (R.A.C.E.) to help children with cleft palates and disabilities and working with orphans in Mexico, I have had a hunger to explore motivating volunteering opportunities. That is why to be given the chance to be a Mid-City CAN intern and to volunteer for a greater cause in promoting awareness for City Heights residents and children is a learning experience that I will always hold onto. The talent and energy of other volunteers is what drives me to help find the career that I will always cherish.
