Residents Choose Mid-City CAN Leaders

Typical Mid-City Community Advocacy Network style, this year's Holiday Party was more than just a celebration; it was a chance for residents of City Heights to impact the direction of the entire organization. On December 10, community members were asked to come vote for the Coordinating Council, which acts as the leadership board for Mid-City CAN.

The elections were held at the Copley-Price YMCA during the quarterly Networking Council meeting. The event was also a holiday party, to celebrate all that the volunteers and momentum teams accomplished together in 2015, and to dream big for 2016.

After hearing Coordinating Council Candidates give speeches about why they should be elected, residents of City Heights voted and the party got underway. Children built ginger bread houses, which were judged by the crowd for "most creative." People of all ages took pictures in the holiday photo booth, networked, and hatched plans for the year to come.

Mid-City CAN would like to thank everyone who participated and say that we look forward to making this next year our best yet!
