Congratulations to the Newest Coordinating Council Members

Mid-City Community Advocacy Network would like to thank everyone who participated in the Coordinating Council Elections at our Holiday Party on December 10, 2015. Below are the winning candidates. We are excited to see the direction and leadership they give this organization.


Carlos McCray 

Carlos McCray is a passionate Social Worker dedicated to helping and serving families in San Diego. His mantra is to do something every day, big or small, to help make the world a better place. He considers himself a Social Work Entrepreneur, driven to blend non-profit missions with (some) for-profit business practices.


phuong lee

Phuong grew up in city heights, attending Euclid Elementary School, Monroe Clark Middle School and Hoover High School. Phuong currently works as the Program Coordinator for the Aaron Price Fellows.


Said Abiyow

Said Abiyow, founder of the Somali Bantu Association of America in City Heights, began his career assisting refugee resettlement in Africa with the Internal Organization for Immigration after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations.


Sandra Alvaredo

Sandra was born in Mexicali, Mexico. She moved to San Diego in 2001 and has since been a resident of City Heights. After graduating Crawford High School 2004, Sandra attended Grossmont College and ultimately transferred to San Diego State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and a minor in Sociology in 2009.
